The structure of the Spring Summer 2020 collection develops from a few basic items, that have become unpredictable classics: the silk pant with side band is printed in all 16 seasonal patterns of the collection, matching short sleeve and long sleeve silk shirts with piping. The shirt has evolved in a collection essential: the cowboy shirt, the finely striped and overprinted shirt, the Safari jacket in rough cotton. The new uniform is a Japan inspired outfit in denim: a large loose pant combined with a boxy jacket shirt. Following climate changes the new must have item is the lightweight printed nylon trench, to be held in a crossbody bag. Everything is developed in patchwork prints and also come in an allover pattern for a new mimetic effect.
The women's collection is developed on the same printed themes but applied to feminine and sensual items. Silk long sleeves shirts are worn with pleated skirts, fluid yet geometric at the same time. Wide kimonos are wrapped with handmade fringed shawls. Pajama pants are worn under masculine shirts - modulated in length to become shirt dresses with a Mandarin collar – and then combined with ultralight nylon dusters. Superfine knits can be buttoned petite jackets or minibomber with knitwear details and printed silk panels. A safari jacket with big pockets and a swingy skirt come in crisp cotton canvas for an immediate “Out of Africa” effect.
Seasonal inspirations: American fashion designer Patrick Kelly wearing his signature dark denim overall, Picasso in his Blue period, a young Omar Sharif, Paul Cox’s illustrations rhythmical style, "Caravaggio" the biographical novel by Yannick Haenel, experimental electronic music by Aisha Devi, luxurious magazines and books published by Franco Maria Ricci, the exotic eccentric design by Carlo Bugatti, Balthus’ intimate visions, the iconoclastic paintings by Danny Fox.
